Give your child a fun, positive start in sports with HUBSTART at New England Sports Hub in Somersworth, NH. Designed for children ages 3–5, HUBSTART introduces movement and beginner sports skills through age-appropriate games, activities, and plenty of play.
Each 45-minute class helps young children build coordination, balance, confidence, teamwork, and healthy movement habits without the pressure of traditional youth sports.
Each class includes a warm-up, skill-building activities, a water break, and a mini game to finish the day with fun.

CLASS INFORMATION
Kick-start your child’s love of movement. Through fun, age-appropriate soccer games, children develop coordination, balance, confidence, and foundational skills, all while discovering that an active lifestyle can begin with play.
Climb, crawl, jump, balance, and explore. HUBSTART Move uses imaginative obstacle courses and gross-motor activities to help children build body awareness, confidence, and a strong foundation for healthy, active habits.
Run, catch, throw, and score. This playful introduction to flag football (Non-contact) helps young athletes develop coordination, teamwork, and confidence while showing them how much fun staying active can be.

Darren Casey-Covell serves as the Youth Programs Director at New England Sports Hub, where he leads the vision and execution of all summer camp and youth programming at The Hub. With a career rooted in coaching and youth athletics, Darren brings years of hands-on experience working with kids of all ages in high-energy, multi-sport environments that prioritize both fun and development.
Darren previously held leadership roles as Director of Programming for HERO Kid Sports and Kidokinetics, where he built impactful youth programs, led coaching teams, and worked closely with schools, communities, and families. His approach has always centered on creating engaging experiences that keep kids active, learning, and coming back for more.
In addition to his role at The Hub, Darren is currently an Assistant Football and Hockey Coach at Cheverus High School, where he helps student-athletes grow not only in their sport, but as teammates and young adults.
At his core, Darren believes sports should be fun first—because that’s where confidence, learning, and real growth begin. He is passionate about creating an environment where kids feel comfortable taking risks, learning from mistakes, and discovering their potential. Darren emphasizes life skills like teamwork, communication, resilience, and accountability—values that extend far beyond the game and into everyday life.

- Class format: Warm-up, skill activity, water break, skill activity, mini game.
